Can you guys in the next update for either the board or gallery add an option for:

When a member uploads a picture in a post that it adds it to they're gallery automaticly. Currently get the picture in both locations a member has to do alot of leg work. This is difficult for everyone.

Thanks.

There's a link in each user's gallery profile to show their IPB pics. i.e.

So your telling me, instead of uploading a picture to a post (and having it filed directly into a members gallery) , we should go upload the pics in the gallery, wait, find them, highlight the link (if more then one picture gotta go back in forth, or have two browsers open) , and then go make a post ?

come on....

they're has to be a smart way to do this, this has been bugging me since I got IPG , its a very poor set up not having this. I seriously can't be the only one wanting something of this feature.

There was the link to that Gallery Post Tool mod wink.gif

That way, you upload to the Gallery and then you can auto insert into a post. It does work with the later Board / Gallery versions (I have it installed)

We've literally had only a very small handful of people actually want the image duplicated and stored in multiple locations. Ultimately, then, you use double the storage space for the images, and users have an image in two places to maintain instead of one.

Presently

1) As I pointed out, the link that I showed you shows all images from the forums. Doesn't have anything to do with posting in the Gallery, it's just a tool that Gallery has (built in) to find and display all images a user has posted in the forums

2) Or you can upload the images to the Gallery, then use the bbcode to display them in the forums.

There would need to be much higher demand to code in a feature that would duplicate the images - most admins would not want that.

I'm not asking for it to be duplicated.
As of right now, the easy way to make a post with images is to just upload them, then go back later and add them to the gallery. Not go to the gallery then make a post with the links (to lengthy of process) .

I'm asking for when a file is uploaded , that a user has the option of having all of there uploads go to a gallery folder or to the uploads folder ... like an option in my controls ... You should be able to attach files to a post the same as now, with whatever directory.

I'm not the only one that wants this.

Ah, ok, I think I misunderstood you. When you said later go back and add them to the Gallery, I didn't realize you meant THEN go delete them from the topic and link to the copy in the Gallery.

Ideally, yes, at some point in the future the upload form should be made modular. If you have Gallery and you're uploading an image, have it go to the Gallery and instead of the [ attach:: ] bbcode being inserted, insert the [ img= ] bbcode pointing to the Gallery image. If you have Download manager, do the same thing with a link to the file in the download manager instead of attaching directly to the post.

Unfortunately right now, IPB is not flexible enough to allow something like that without modifications to the files, which none of our components can do. Something for IPB 3.0 original.gif

* IPB 3 has a lot more talk these days *

Ok I like the idea of it will be in the future rather then not at all.

Btw I've wanted something like this for about 6 or so months, and nexus for 2 yrs haha

I'm against mods too, everytime I do one, it gets booted the next update.

Thanks

Would be nice to see it in IPB 3.0. original.gif
