I am really confused what custom content blocks are and how to use them . Do you mind explaining what they are and give me an example of how they can be implementing in coding?

yea, tho they are likely traucking along on nexus more so than answering questions on the beta thats having issues, while its frustrating i WOULD rather they be fixing and adding instead of answering about a product that people wont be using that version or having the same issues....im sure they would prefer a trouble ticket only type system for the beta, so people dont feel like they are left hanging. but im eager for the main release.. and id rather it get done than get my questions answered now..

Chatted with Matt about this, and basically they do what they are titled - they allow you to create blocks of custom content. i.e. you could create a block that was like

CODE
<div>Special Offer!<br />
Sign up now and receive 10% off using discount code "12345"</div>

Then anywhere you want that block to show up you just add the tag in from the Insert special menu, or by using {block.block_title}

It's a basic tool to make it easier for you to add a block of content that will be reused repeatedly throughout your site so that

1) You don't have to manually re-enter or copy/paste it each time
2) You can update one "content block" which will update that all over your site.

I started playing with this feature the other day. It is REALLY useful and I am loving it to death. It is sad how so simple things have to be to amuse me.

agreed. i addeda weekly poll to the site, and decided to put it in an area on 4 different pages on the site, also swapping my ads/banners to this, instead of a ton of script code from ad conpamnies i have {block.vertical} and it updates the ad script everywhere.. edit the poll block and BAm its all done..

what a time saver...
