Suggestion: Social Network Module similar to Myspace or Facebook

It would be really nice if you could do this for those of us that would like to use Nexus outside of a typical business setup.
FNNSports
even if they dont you can do whatever you want with Nexus, grab a free social network script from hostscripts.com and use it within nexus. its 100% customizable. so make it what you want it to be.

ive pondered adding this feature to my sites previously, kind of a sports fans / tailgating network of sorts so when fans travel they can meet up tailgate, etc... never had the time or energy tho..

While I'm sure there would be SOME demand for it, it's relatively hard to properly integrate social networking into a business application. I'd venture to guess most hosts, and other people selling software online, wouldn't have a huge need for "friends" and "profile comments" (there aren't even profiles yet in Nexus) in their store software.

@FNN - I would much rather see something more integregated with IPS product then to hack something together.

@Bfarber - I was thinking more less of those who only want Nexus purely for the CMS possibilities. Not everyone is running a hosting company and billing of course can be used in very diverse flexible ways as we see FNN's use for it would be a good example of CMS and billing. So if there is no profiles currently, basically the same as no extensive permissions will be built in... It's either they can view a page or not correct?

@IPS - Focusing this product mainly towards businesses would have been a good opportunity 3-4 years ago, but at this day and age where anybody and everybody even kids can get solutions for hosting software very cheap and offer them too as affiliates... I think you stepped into the game a tad too late and even still you are not ready as current solutions still rivals your beta product. I mean seriously the list for Approved ICANN Registars is not that long mate. I just wish the idea of the Nexus concept would be re-thought out to be diverse and not geared simply for business users cause that "Eggs in one Basket" thing I hear is a hell on wheels tongue.gif
