Billing Credits - You can add credits to customer accounts that are used when an invoice is created

Does it mean the customers can purchase the "goods" with a discount by exchanging the credits points that they have earned?

I am installing it now, but it sounds like that.

Yep, that's basically it. You can add credits to the customers account, and then when they buy something that amount is deducted from the final price they pay.

Thanks, this function is very necessary.

In this case, will IPS extend the applied range of the credits? For example: Members can get the credits not only from purchasing things but also from posting a number of articles, helping as moderators, and members can circulate the credits. Thus, more and more members will try to purchase things just because they have credits in the pockets.

The credits system is exactly the points system in my mind, the credits are the trade elements which can further the business and the popularity groth of the website, more stimulant, more active.

I doubt that we will extend the functionality that far in the first release, although it is definitely something we will consider for future versions.

That would be great! Just hope it could be sooner. pinch.gif
Mark.
I've given a member 50 credits - they have an invoice for $35, so when they click 'pay now', surely it should just deduct 35 credits? But it doesn't - it just takes them to the select payment method screen (and there is no 'credit' method option) - is this is a bug or am I missing something?

For the moment credits are only automatically applied when an invoice is created, so if the credits are added after the fact they won't be applied. You could of course modify the invoice price and credit amount manually for the customer.

@ysun, you may already be able to apply credits for actions such as posting an article. Nexus supports hooks and it would be possible I should think to insert credits or update the member's credit amounts via a hook on the page that accepts an article submission (or whatever it is you want to apply credits for).

Really? rolleyes.gif I saw there was a hooks tool in the Nexus menu long time ago, but I never had/knew a chance to use it. Hope it's not a very difficult one. pinch.gif

Basically you just create a file with the right filename in the right folder and nexus does the rest. It's something like

hook_(application)_(module)_(section).php or something like that. Josh started some documentation on it.

Awesome! Seems the Nexus is very nearly to release. w00t.gif
