Hello,

Does the Nexus still need to define the encoding in class_db_mysql.php and class_db_mysql_client.php?

Currently all files are ioncubed.

i think they're going to review which files absolutely need to be encoded better when they release but i'm not sure. Most should be encoded but they don't expect you to be making changes in the class_db files so maybe they will encode it. I do assume its 98% the same as the one in ipb.

Yeah, the final release will not have as many encoded files, the db drivers will not be encoded and are 100% identical to the ipb ones.
