I had this pop up some time ago, but never really tackled the topic, are ATOM rss feeds going to be supported? I have about 150 feeds i need to add that are ATOM feeds, and its holding the "newsstand" feature of my site back quite a bit. all of teh local news sites and newspapers are using ATOM feeds.

so i guess:

1. Why isnt this already supported, as it seems pretty widely used?
2. When should we see this available?

Thanks as always!

That's one of the things we're looking at for IPB 3.0 is inclusion of Atom feed imports, which are generally more reliable than the RSS feeds.

thanks, at least its being thought about.

wonder what that means for nexus, i dont need it for IPB at all. and certainly not interested in waiting until that comes out for nexus to support it. unless of course thats coming out next month. shifty.gif

its just one of those things thats turned from "eh no biggie" to "this is unacceptable" ... tho until i actually pay for the software i cant harp TOO much... i guess.

Yea!

I would say that its not currently supported because ATOM Feeds weren't as widely used when the current versions were in development. Its much better than RSS now though so would be great to have it available!

ATOM feeds will be supported, but I'm not sure which version that will happen in yet.
