when visitors access the index page of my forum they can see any of the forums that have been posted in. they can see all topics that have replies. but they have to physically go to the gallery to see if there are any images replies.
can I place the gallery into my forum as a subforum. the link to the gallery is out of the way and a lot of people simply don't notice it.
I made a makeshift link to the gallery as a subforum dfirect link, but this is not good enough.
the gallery integrates perfectly with the forum with one setback. it's hidden.

It would make sense if I could choose any category or album of the gallery and place them on the frontpage of my forum so that any time there is any activity in that album or category, the subforum will light up.

Well I would say the answer is almost definitely no since the gallery is stand alone module and not that well integrated into the forum. Let's hope the gallery gets some work done on it for version 3. Sounds like the work being on IPB 3 will allow modules like the gallery to have closer integration.

Well it can't be done the way it is now. I do have mine where a link shows up when new images are in the gallery as a whole. And actually that could work for specific albums too, but it's justa link in the member bar, not looking like a forum. It could be done though. Or something similar.

This is the kind of stuff I would love to see. IPB should give us reasons to purchase their Gallery. Why theirs when we can use a standalone gallery that will have the same features?

I'm hoping IPB3 and IPG3 will allow this among other things.
