I would really like to see a photo contest feature added to IPG. I'm not sure of the level of difficulty in adding this, but I feel that most communities could benefit from this feature. It's a great way to improve member activity.

Here are a few simple suggestions:

• date range for submissions
• date range for voting
• submitter cant vote for their own image
• only 1 image allowed per user
• portal plug-in for photo contest

This would be lovely but to add to it:
Admin/Contest Host choice on multiple or single image selection
Admin/Contest Host Choice on vote for self
Ability to choose categories that can hold contests
Ability to set up users that can hold contests.

now it's 100000000000 points, now my moderators do this manually, for one week they collect info which picture will be taken into contest, then they preapre poll and afterwards users give their votes, it's a lot of work for my moderators - we hate this way but we have to prepare contest.
The gallery has nearly 50k pictures and 6k users so we have to do some entertainment for users

Our site has a large group of shutterbugs even though it's not directed at photography.

I do the same thing every month by:
1) letting people attach a photo to a thread.
2) Manually uploading all submissions into a category in the Gallery
3) Creating a poll that uses the thumbnail from the gallery and the persons name
4) link to the image as oppose to the gallery page

This is quite cumbersome, witch is why I made the suggestion. I hope it gets considered in the future,

I do something similar for my contests as well but I:
Open a category for image submission with moderation.
Approve images as they come in as long as they follow the rules.
Setup a poll with the image/link for each poll selection.

Ability to easily show contest information/updates on a non-IPB page would make it even better for me, but I totally love and adore this suggestion.

Yeah I always thought this would be nice too. I am guessing they will say it's best left for a modification though.

On the first Invision site I was ever on they had graphics contests. They didn't even have gallery or modifications though. They had a topic where people entered and then she told the winner at some point.

Even that would be simpler with current IPB and gallery though because the topic could have a closing time.

Anyway I think this would be very nice. But I am thinking it would be something that IPS will say shouldn't really be in the default. Also they better put in the private clubs fikrst becuase it was listed as a feature 102 years ago.
