I would like to discuss IPD, basically where is it? When is it coming out?
I'm currently looking for a decent CMS, as my current (WordPress) one is not fulfilling all of my needs. My first-choice so far is going to be ExpressionEngine as it is super flexible, lightweight, and cost-effective. How is IPD gonna compare? I'm a little worried that IPD is taking so long to develop :S Plus will IPD be as bloated as IPB is, because I really don't want a bloated CMS with silly features and over-the-top WYSIWIG editors and all that.

It would be nice if we could get a look at IPD as a product, so that I can make a decision as to what is the best solution. IPD has taken longer that anyone thought, 3 years or more?

Hello,

IP.Dynamic has been merged into IP.Nexus. IP.Nexus is a core framework that allows you plug in other applications, such as a hosting, CMS, download manager, billing, customer support, etc into it. I would suggest taking a look at the IP.Nexus Feedback forum and see how it is going.

FYI, IP.Nexus in and of itself has been put on hold as an application. sad.gif

i don't see anything wrong with that though. IPS have stated on a number of occasions i think that their main product is the forum software. I think that software is more useful to a larger customer base than a product like nexus, which is probably going to have limited use to the majority of forum administrators.

If they have set a deadline, even loosely, of when they hope IPB 3 is released, i can fully understand their intent to make it the priority project.

That aside, the progression of all IPS software seems to be very modular. Chances are, they are working significantly on the core which binds all applications. The modules themselves are probably relatively straight forward to code, when compared to the core which makes them communicate.

Yes, sadly I saw that after I replied. I live in Japan and get to the news a bit late sometimes sad.gif. Sorry for any confusion.
