Refer someone who purchases a license of x product, get y months of support free on your account.

I'd rather see something like

Refer 2 "New" clients who purchase a IP.Board license get a free component like Blog, Gallery or Downloads

yeah.. that's more like it.. and actually this is not a bad idea..

I actually made a topic about this a couple of years ago I think, and they said simply "no". I forget what the reason was but maybe that will change. I think I suggested like discount on your renewal service for a year or something, a free component, a spare license, ect. I don't know anymore.

If they add it, I hope I can turn it off. My registration page is big enough. ><

Errr, I think the suggestions are for our site (IPS) not the IP.Board product itself..

Yeah the suggestion was for IPS to create a referral link for customers and allow them to refer potential new customers and be rewarded based on however many referrals they have.

IPS has had programs like this of various forms over the years and none of them lasted.

Hosting companies give discounts and extras. It might bring in a lot of backlinks to IPS.
