Hi there,

We run into an awful situation last night that you need to know about. It is definitely something that you need to fix. Anyway, this is what happened: A spammer came on the board and started posting yucko things. By the time the Admin figured he was there, he had made about 60 post and he was going fast because he was just copying and pasting things.

It was hard to figure out what he was doing, but she went into his profile area and saw where he was. By the time she went over and deleted his recent post and came back, he would have made five more post.

Of course, the moderator banned him from the board which put him out of business. The problem came in getting rid of his posts. She could see that he had made about 60 posts before she got him banned because of his posting count. But when she looked in the admin for his posts, and told the board to delete the posts, and looked up the recent posts, it said that he had only made one post. So it didn't work to use the function in the board admin area to delete the members posts. That numbers didn't match at all.

So where were all of those spammy posts?

In the gallery.

There was no good, efficient way to clean them up, either. She had to go through the recent posts area of the gallery and go into every single image where he had commented and manually delete out his comment. It took them a lot time to do. She actually had to pull in a couple of moderators to find them all. Oh - and you can't use the search function to find comments in the gallery by a certain person either. So that needs to go on your to-do list.

It was just hard all of the way around.

So the board is counting the gallery comments as posts - which is good. But the member function in the admin does not hook up with the gallery member use at all. This is really bad because we have so many images and someone could really cause a problem - particularly if they came along in the middle of the night when no one was around.

Can you please fix it up so that when a spammer comes along, we can efficiently delete ALL of their posts EVERYWHERE? It would be so appreciated. I'm sure all of your clients would appreciate it.

That was a mess.
