In another topic , I found I might have a wrong definition about HOT during these years, or it might be the different aesthetics standard between the ppl in different countries.

What's the definition of HOT in your mind? (plz don't post 18+ pictures or links, I don't know if IPS ban the customers for that.)

For me personally it comes down to certain looks that make the opposite sex very, very desirable and other looks such as personality more admirable as in not in a lustful HOTNESS way but one feeling of respect and admiration, just like one would look at a flower. I have so much respect for women, so much so that plutonic relationships are best, so I go for personality

Hot: Girl with large breasts and nice face. Girl that totally turns you on. Don't want to know her, just want to look, maybe touch. Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, LC, etc.

Beautiful: Dark haired girl with beautiful face and great personality. Someone who just makes you smile and laugh. Softer features. Take home to family, etc. Girl in your two pics is this type.

Thanks, m8s. From your posts and avatars, I think I know what is 'hot' now. Can't believe I took 'beautiful' as 'hot' for so many years, it seems 'hot' could be found mostly in 18+ pictures.

Honestly I think I'd rather pick someone beautiful than hot.

I think it might clear up some confusion to say that these words are chosen as much to describe their subject as their audience. If I was describing my girlfriend to my grandmother I wouldn't use the word hot. However my girlfriend is hot, very hot. She tells me that's why I can't touch her sometimes... But she's also pretty, and beautiful, and attractive, and optically favorable...

You can do you best to distinguish one from the other - hot is more lustful than pretty which is more innocent than beautiful which is more classy than "totallydoable" but there will always be contradictions in usage, exceptions, and the very words themselves change with each use, whether proper or improper.

All of these words: hot, pretty, beautiful, mean the same thing and only their social context will provide distinction. I'm basically saying that unless you're accustomed to the culture in which these words live you are doomed to use them incorrectly. Context is the only thing that gives them distinction.

Lauren Conrad?? Audrina Patridge?! They are hot maybe by MTV, SoCal standards ( cookie cutter idiot whores ), but give me that girl-next-door exotic look over them anyday:

I much prefer natural beauty than fake-tanned, over-done makeup type beauty. People like Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie are naturally beautiful. So many in the public spotlight aren't, imo.

Thing is, I think most men think this way too, which makes me wonder why women feel like they need to get fake boobs and bad makeup jobs. I guess that's what women think most men want (and I'm sure some do, certainly).
