It is my understanding that you can't get one against someone if you don't know their address (to serve them I would imagine). I need to get one, but I don't know where this person currently lives. Is there anything the courts can do?
Lındsey
The police should be able to locate the persons address on their computers.
They can do this in Australia, so it may be a little different over in the US.

Yes, they will have to locate them.

The process requires a court appearance I think.

Actually, the person you get one against doesn't need to be in court when you initially get one (in Connecticut at least).

That's what I meant, the person getting the restraining order does.
