I had a little idea about the BBCode in IP.Board 3.0 and here I come:

The tag : "wikipedia" usage: [name=word]. when you parsing out the tag, the bbcode will generate the correct link to your own "word" (You have to set up before - at the BBCODE System).
If you would create a new BBCODE (for e.g.: you type: Invision Power Services & we will show: Invision Power Services)


On the BBCODE we will enter:

Can't you just use the badwords system?

It should be worked like a BBCODE Tags , the BBCODE is disabled on the 'Badwords Filter' , my suggest was to replace automatically the "one" word to: One.

I want to setup (at the ACP) a new filter: MSN.co.il

Before: msn
After: MSN

I don't see a point of this being built in. The bad word filter is the way to go!

but why? the bad word filter can't compatitable with BBCODE tags!

your not asking for a bbcode tag your asking for something is supported by the badwords filter!

If you type: Hello | It will show: Hello
But you can't put it on the Badword filter! I have already tried it.

I like the idea, but I think it's probably best suited to a mod. I'm not sure that many sites would make use of this feature. We can think about it for a later release of IPB 3 though.

Actually, Jean, I'm pretty sure the badword filter would work? Is it stripping out the HTML tags or are you not understanding what people are suggesting?

I just tried it with the above in a bad word filter and it just shows the code.
I even tried bbcode in the badword filter thinking that maybe it was because the above is html.
It just shows the code in the post.

thats because bfarber's example was wrong (wow never thought i'd say that!). His example will only work if you have html enabled in posts, i haven't tried it but this should work:

Nothing has changed, both could not work at the badwords filter. I hope you will to put it on your next-board.


I know what people say but I can't agree at this time because I see results in my eyes, when you put your example values (html is included) so you will see at the topics the "plain text" format. (the html code , without any effect).

Like I stated in my post I tried that and it also just shows the code.

That's why I hope to see that on IPB version number three.
