Who listens to rap and/or hip hop? All my friends listen to rock and classical.

Hip Hop is a culture, Rap is the music of that culture. You can't listen to Hip Hop.

Hip Hop is a music genre isn't it, and not all hip hop music is rap. :blink:

No, Hip Hop is often incorrectly called a music genre by various corporations, including MTV which would like to make people think there is some distinction between rap (Nas, Rakim) and "Hip Hop" (Justin and Britney over Neptunes beats).

There is no such thing as Hip Hop music. Hip Hop is a culture consisting of turntablism (DJing), graffiti, breakdancing and emceeing (rapping). Rap is the music, Hip Hop is a culture, a way to live.

I listen to Rap; fave is Biggie, Tupac, G-Unit, 50 Cent and Jay Z. But i like the lot.

I listen to rap around 10 hours per day :)

Thats why I got the impression it was a genre, not all hip-hop is rap and vice-versa.

Personally, I think rap is just noise. I have no liking for it, and I cannot stand to hear it.

I'm forced to listen to it at work, but frankly I'd happily pour acid on eery rap album in the world. And I absolutly refuse to listen to 50 Cent and have actually gotten into arguments about it. Frankly I think that anyone who thinks guns, crime and violence are so fun and cool should have both their kneecaps blown off with a .357 hollow point and then see if they have the same opinion.
